Finished Shooting "Serbian Scars", Michael Madsen Loves Serbia

(Blic) By A. Novakovic

A five week shooting of the film “Serbian Scars” finished two days ago in Belgrade. The lead roles belong to Michael Madsen, Mark Dacascos, Jana Milic, Sergej Trifunovic and Vladimir Rajcic, American actor of Serbian origin, who is also the script writer. The first run of the film is expected at the end of the year. The film is directed by Brent Huff. According to Rajcic’s words, Madsen is delighted with Serbia, its hospitality and “sljivovica”!

A. Novaković “We shot the last scenes of the film on the streets at the foot of Kalemegdan. The final scenes will be shot in Chicago and than 11-day editing and postproduction will ensue. The opening night will be in December or January first in Belgrade, then in London, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Madsen and me became very good friends during the shooting and at the end of the year we will start working on a new movie „Straight Bullet“, starring Halle Barry and Dennis Hopper. We are still not sure whether Tarantino will be a film director or producer,” said Vladimir Rajcic for “Blic”.

“Somehow I have an impression that this role has changed my entire life. I love this country because it makes me feel relaxed”, Madsen said about Serbia.

You know, I have been trying to keep track of this film for a long while now and I do know that Serbian Scars debuted this year at Cannes and the non-US film rights were bought by New Films International. Beyond that, I have no info at the moment on a US or Canada release date, other than the major film websites showing it as "2008". Sorry!
